I’m a passionate life sciences graduate from JAIN University, Bangalore. Despite financial hurdles I achieved academic excellence, securing a full scholarship for my Bachelor's degree. During my academic journey fueled by a thirst for knowledge and a drive to conserve nature's wonders I immersed myself in the world of biodiversity and found my calling in the study of endangered species.

Now, with an unwavering commitment to making a difference, I am collaborating with esteemed researchers from the Department of Animal Science at Peradeniya University. Together with a like-minded colleague from the same faculty, we are embarking on a groundbreaking research project focused on the elusive "Bulath Hapaya" or Puntius nigrofasciata, an enchanting fish found exclusively in our homeland.

Our dedication to the cause goes beyond our own aspirations. Having supported other researchers through the Young Zoologists Association of Sri Lanka, we have witnessed the potential of collective efforts in protecting our delicate ecosystems. Driven by a deep love for wildlife, I’m now collaborating with the esteemed Department of Animal Science at Peradeniya University and a like-minded colleague from the same faculty. Together, we aim to unravel the mysteries of "Bulath Hapaya" habitat to preserve this unique species for future generations.

We hope to have the funding in place by 30th August for us to start the fieldwork by early september
