Post COVID-19 has been an incredibly challenging time for our home, due to reduced home visits from many of our regular donors and well-wishers, there has been a considerable reduction in donations whilst prices have continued to rise.

We hope through this fundraising initiative to safeguard our healthcare costs for at least 1 year. This will include cost of medication, special attendant’s fees in times of hospitalisation, speech therapy, physiotherapy, assistive support for daily living for 60 residents for one year.

The aim is to raise Rs. 3,000,000 towards the healthcare of our residents, this will include annual cost of medication, pampers, special attendant’s fees when hospitalised and 50% of the annual cost for assistive support for daily living for 60 residents.

A breakdown of the costs is given below:

CFS Prithipura Home is registered a Charitable Organization and is an Approved Charity under Inland Revenue Act No. 24 of 2017 para 1(a) of the 5th schedule by Gazette Notification 2288/09 of 12th July 2022

And a Voluntary Social Services/Non-Governmental Organization registered under Voluntary Social Services Organizations (Registration & Supervision) Act No. 31 of 1980 (as amended) bearing Registration No. FL11336.

The Prithipura Home provides a home environment from childhood to adulthood for about 61 mentally and physically differently abled residents. We offer a safe place for the well-being and rehabilitation of the residents who need special care and attention due to mental, physical, social or economic reasons. At the Home residents are encouraged to develop their own personalities and identities and skills they possess including: • Physiotherapy • Speech Therapy • Activity Centre (Cooking, Sewing etc.) • Assistive support for daily living • Monthly Events & Outings • Home Gardening • Income supported activities • Vocational Training • Hewisi Band (Drumming & Dancing)

May 2023 – July 2023 will be our fundraising period.

These funds will be used throughout the year 2023 to support the healthcare of our 60 residents.
