There are many parents who cannot afford glasses for their children, we can help them.

Dr. Amila De Alwis

Background

Hi, my name is Dr. Amila De Alwis (aged 40) MBBS, MD, FRCS, an eye surgeon practicing in Colombo. In 2013, a colleague and I started an eye clinic for children, 'CHILDEyE' in Rajagiriya, as there was a dire need for this service. Over time, we encountered a large number of children whose parents could not afford eye care. This led us to provide eye care, free of charge, on most weekday mornings for these underprivileged children. Despite providing free eye consultation for these kids, their parents cannot afford glasses.

Project

It is our intention to raise funds to donate 10 pairs of spectacles to these underprivileged kids. Each pair would cost approximately Rs.5,000. As such, we are looking to raise Rs.50,000. With your valuable support, should we succeed in this endeavor, we propose that we continue this project and provide even more glasses to needy kids in the future. We would greatly appreciate your engagement in this project. Thank you.
