COVID-19 has been an incredibly challenging time for our home, due to reduced home visits from many of our regular donors and well-wishers, there has been a considerable reduction in donations whilst prices have continued to rise. We have had to revisit our operating costs which severely impacted our planned improvements and budget .- Prices of food ,health care,medicines ,maintenance costs have sky rocketed. Our residents have also been impacted by COVID-19 with many of the residents as well as staff testing positive, requiring additional resources and expenses to cover their healthcare.

We hope through this fundraising initiative to safeguard our healthcare costs for at least 1 year. This will include annual cost of medication, speech therapy, physiotherapy, assistive support for daily living for 61 residents for whole year.

The aim is to raise Rs. 3,000,000 towards the healthcare of our residents, this will include annual cost of medication, speech therapy, physiotherapy, and 50% of the annual cost for assistive support for daily living for 61 residents.

A breakdown of the costs is given below:

APPROVED CHARITY & NGO
CFS is a government registered approved charity as per gazette no. 13998 of 23/3/1964. It is also registered as a Non-Government Organization (NGO), no. SL/1136 of 11/12/2006. On 30/8/2011 CFS was registered as Home for the Disabled under the Western Province Social Services Department -no. WP/SSD/G1DH/2011.06.

The Prithipura Home provides a home environment from childhood to adulthood for about 61 mentally and physically differently abled residents. We offer a safe place for the well-being and rehabilitation of the residents who need special care and attention due to mental, physical, social or economic reasons. At the Home residents are encouraged to develop their own personalities and identities and skills they possess including: • Physiotherapy • Speech Therapy • Activity Centre (Cooking, Sewing etc.) • Assistive support for daily living • Monthly Events & Outings • Home Gardening • Income supported activities • Vocational Training • Hewisi Band (Drumming & Dancing)

These funds will be used throughout the year 2022 and 2023 to support the healthcare of our 61 residents.
